S. Van Mierlo † (1888 — 1962) (Also in Dutch)
G.J. Pauptit † (1889 — 1962) (Also in Dutch) Out of the Scriptures « Manifest » (Also in Dutch) Independent. This new magazine (and this website) does not involve in any church, group, direction, sect or association and does not want to direct any new organization in any way. It is the publication of some of a great distance from each other, of all « ism's » free standing men, whose only question is: What does the Scripture say? It has a completely independent character in all human respects. Basis. The basis of this magazine are the inspired Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. With this it rejects all traditional learning. There is only too much of that in Christianity, so much that a chaos has arisen, in which the outsider can not find a way. There is also a bewildering bondage in Christendom inherited from the fathers, but therefore not yet found in the Scriptures. Relying only on the above-mentioned basis, we reject everything that does not correspond to the purity of the written Word as far as we know it from the better manuscripts. Task. The task of this magazine is to unfold the Scriptures according to the purpose of the aions. In particular, we will examine which dispensation we currently live in and what the ultimate goal is. This will result in different lines and consequences. In order to give this general description more detailed content beforehand, it must be said that, without seeing the other truths of the writing, the magazine wishes first of all to explain what the purpose of the aions is, in what proportion the present dispensation stands to this purpose, and how the doctrine of resurrection is a necessary part of this purpose. On many truths a new, different or better light will be shining along the way. At the same time, mystical life gets a better perspective and a solid basis. Character. This magazine only wants to deal with Scripture research. It is not an ecclesiastical magazine and no new Christian weekly or monthly magazine. Then it had no reason to exist. Where, however, there is now no periodical, which deals solely and entirely independently with the study of the Scriptures and with related matters, much less with the purpose of the aions, the dispensation of the mystery, and the resurrection, this edition is not only legitimate, but necessary. Without going into any other group, it wants to serve the faithful of all groups. We hope that it will also attract many outsiders. Without going any further than necessary, it wants to give a higher fullness, the parts of which, often hidden, are everywhere scattered without the ability to open a new perspective. Purpose. The purpose of this magazine does not coincide with any of the present. It may be parallel to what others learn, it has a completely different purpose. It does not want to emphasize a single truth, for example the return of the Lord, it wants to be working centrally, generally overseeing. The goal is to point to the unsearchable riches of Christ by observing the searchable riches of Scripture. This can only be done by consistently passing through the main lines of Scripture. There is a lack of that. Not only has the Reformation given no fullness, but later emerged currents lack that. Some completely silted up in anti-Scriptural opinions. By considering the unfolding of the Scriptures now from the purpose of the aions, this magazine aims to truly see Christ as head over all things, for the church that is his body and to bring out the glory that is attached to it. The research of the Scriptures is thus a means to arrive at the goal: to grow up in the Head. Construction. This magazine, like Luke, wants to carefully examine everything from the front. We propose to give a series of articles on the different lines. We will try to complete this as much as possible, although this will not always be possible. In addition, shorter, more independent pieces or additional parts. We want to be as simple and as « scientific » as possible. By the one we mean, that we hope to be comprehensible to the normally developed reader, with the latter, that we want to see, where necessary, all the facts and data on any subject, if necessary with the source language. The piecework of many groups hinders a broad overview of the purpose. The editors are not one-man, although it will be necessary for the time being to place only one-hand series in order to give some limitation and delineation at first. This may be due to several readers who, through other means, acquired deeper written insight than the traditional, familiar appearance. They may remember that not only they, but also others, must come to the further knowledge of Scripture and we must simply begin to climb up gradually. Perhaps that ascent is still fast enough. Where we are not alone in our view on writing, but sharing it with foreign writers, the inclusion of translated documents is not excluded. Questions. When dealing with the substance, many readers will have questions, of which they will also send us. We want to dedicate a lot of attention to this, but we can not promise to immediately respond to it. Possibly the requested will come up for itself later, possibly new articles have to be drawn up for it. They must be patience in this. Much will gradually be solved in the exposition. Where necessary, private correspondence will be answered. Criticism. In all human work, including ours are gaps and failures. Although we are convinced that the main lines that will be drawn in this magazine will once prove to have been pure, we would like to accept fair criticism. However, they must be Scriptural. Not what one has always learned is true, only what the Scriptures say is the truth. One must therefore come, if necessary, with scriptural arguments. Others are lost time and effort. We reserve the right not to respond to everything. Where the goal sets us a certain task, every unnecessary obstacle must give way. Criticism is welcome, but if it is Scriptural and sufficient. Polemic. The things that this magazine will make known, and which are no different than a retrieval of the old truth, long buried under all kinds of tradition and human statutes, will be opposed. That can not be otherwise. We will not go into polemics as a rule. We do not have the duty to dispute, only want to announce the purpose of the aions and God's manifold wisdom. The explanation of this will resonate with many, because the time is there, to awaken the deeper truths which in previous times lived more unconsciously in the hearts of those whom God has placed in the spirit in the dispensation of the mystery, and to ensure full assuredness of the mind. With more others this will arouse opposition. We are aware that a violent struggle will be unleashed, not as far as size is concerned, but to its nature, because it will concern the deepest and greatest problems. The darknesses of this aion will cooperate in this. Thus it will automatically be necessary from time to time to defend the truth of the Scriptures, seen from the purpose of the aions. We thereby hope to use the sword of the Spirit, God's Word, in a lawful way, namely to handle worthy and not strike the opponents, but their arms. In The Flow. A task of some years lies ahead of us. Where the main goal is the announcement of the purpose of the aions and what is connected with it, it is possible that this periodical, which is often a book in magazine form, will end after a few years. God's Spirit has to work out the word and realize the hope of the members of Christ's body. Everything is in His hands. God works everything according to the counsel of His will. With this word of introduction we give the new ship over to the waters of time. We sail on the compass of Scripture, direct the course on the things that are Above, where Christ is. We wish to be revealed with Him in glory. Although the storms of spiritual evils may be raging, the current may be against us, even if the ship does not reach its final port and breaks down on the voyage, yet God is able to keep the pawn at His disposal and also without giving our notice to those who come to the highest vocation. Life and death, present and future things, it is all for those who are seized by Christ and hunt for the prize of the calling of God. However, God can also do without this magazine. Yet we hope and believe that He will give His blessing and let it serve to learn something of the mighty purpose of the aions, the rich dispensation of the mystery and the profound meaning of Christ's statement: I am the resurrection and the life. This way, better understanding Paul's hunting and the unsearchable riches of Christ. Then we will want to walk more in the walk, in which we come to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings and whose ultimate goal is to conform us to His death to, anyway, get to the out-resurrection out of the dead.
